New Professional Certification Opportunities
Reprinted courtesy of the APWA, Education Digest

The American Public Works Association (APWA) has recently launched two new credentialing programs establishing industry standards in Fleet and Grounds Maintenance personnel. Following is a quick summary of the two programs:

Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP)
The purpose of the Public Fleet Professional Certification is to promote excellence in fleet management by advancing the knowledge and practice of public fleet professionals to benefit communities through quality fleet services. Certification will be awarded upon meeting the eligibility requirements and successful passing of the CPFP Examination. The first CPFP Examination is scheduled for April 21, 2007. Click the link above for more information!

Certified Grounds Manager (CGM)
Developed and offered by the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS), and officially endorsed by the American Public Works Association (APWA), the CGM program is the first of its type in the Green Industry. Certification will be awarded upon meeting the eligibility requirements and successful passing of the CGM Examination. Examinations are offered on an ongoing basis. For an application, click on the link above, visit http://www.pgms.org/cgmcertification.htm or call PGMS at 1-800-609-PGMS.

Don't miss this unique opportunity for professional recognition and advancement. For more information and a copy of the CPFP Eligibility Application, visit http://www.apwa.net/certification/ or contact Becky Stein, APWA Certification Manager, at bstein@apwa.net.
