New Professional Certification Opportunities

The American Public Works Association (APWA) has recently launched two new
credentialing programs establishing industry standards in Fleet and Grounds
Maintenance personnel. Following is a quick summary of the two programs:
Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP)
The purpose of the Public Fleet Professional Certification is to promote
excellence in fleet management by advancing the knowledge and practice of
public fleet professionals to benefit communities through quality fleet
services. Certification will be awarded upon meeting the eligibility
requirements and successful passing of the CPFP Examination. The first CPFP
Examination is scheduled for April 21, 2007. Click the link above for more

Certified Grounds Manager (CGM)
Developed and offered by the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS),
and officially endorsed by the American Public Works Association (APWA), the
CGM program is the first of its type in the Green Industry. Certification
will be awarded upon meeting the eligibility requirements and successful
passing of the CGM Examination. Examinations are offered on an ongoing
