Product News: Progress with our Betas

Our Asset Management Planning and Work Orders were released in Beta mode in late July and early August 2006. So far they have been well-received and we’re busy making improvements and ironing out some of the kinks for general release.

As the autumn months roll along we will be slowly migrating customers to this new software version. Some of the feature highlights of this new version (PubWorks 4.5.XX, database version 41) as listed below:

• Road Segmentation – Break a road into a set of actual segments. Ability to describe the attributes of each segment; where it begins, its length, width, surface, pavement, etc.

• Location Qualification – Be more specific in where an Activity or a Service Call has been performed. Initial possibilities include Address, Segment and Milepost.

• Work Orders – Combine multiple activities into a single Work Order.

• Asset-Task Planning – Identify tasks which can be scheduled in advance and set up workflows and schedules accordingly.

• Activity Filter – An enhanced way to locate and view entered activity records for the purposes of review, editing and quick reporting.

• Routes – Redesigned to add more flexibility and control.

• Fuel System Interface – enhanced to make setup and operation easier and more reliable.
