Asset Inventory and Work Management –
A T-Square Approach
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Gas and oil exploration has been a boom business
in recent years, with hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands being
opened to exploration, and fuel costs reaching record highs. While this
development has brought jobs to beleaguered western states, it has also
brought headaches for public works managers trying to maintain roads not
designed for current traffic loads. In Wyoming, and elsewhere across the
west, initiatives are now underway to help inventory, rate, and track the
deterioration of county road and bridge assets. PubWorks has
been an integral link in the effort. View

Could GASB34 Actually Be A Good Thing?
CENTENNIAL, CO – By now finance directors and public works
managers in all but the smallest U.S. towns are (or should be) leaping

been surprised by what they have already learned.

Keep Tab on Fire Costs
SAFFORD, AZ
- Tracking capital and maintenance costs for the diverse public
assets of a city or a county – roads, bridges, signs, guardrails, heavy
equipment – is a daunting task. Throw in a disaster like the Graham Mountain
Fire, and Records Clerk Patti Wickleffs could start to tremble. But thanks
to a new generation of work management software, Wickleffs was able to
easily track costs for the help they provided on this summer’s fire, and
this week submitted a reimbursement request to the U.S. Forest Service for
nearly $30,000.

The Importance of Inventory Management
BOULDER, CO - Situated at the foot of the Rockies along Colorado's
Front Range, Boulder County spans nearly 700 square miles of peaks, canyons,
and high plains. The demands of road repairs, snow removal, and
accommodating rapid growth are a constant challenge. Add to that one of the
nation's most extensive bike path systems and the population swings of a
college town and you can begin to understand why Boulder County Road
Maintenance uses work management software to track its costs, inventory, and
activities.

Staying On Track with Technology
ASPEN, CO - In this era of increased public scrutiny, technology is
an increasingly important tool for project managers trying to keep tabs on

it is critical when providing contract services to departments with
dedicated tax sources, to quasi-governmental enterprise zones, and to
neighboring jurisdictions.
